Today is iPhone 3GS day, and while the hysteria is nowhere near the levels of the original iPhone launch, a number of you are probably fairly excited today, refreshing your FedEx tracking number page at a frequency that could probably be considered unhealthy.
Thanks to the folks at AT&T, here we have a look at box upon succulently packed box of 3GS phones heading out the door from their distribution center in Fort Worth, TX. Perhaps to your door, even!
We won't be posting any thoughts on the new iPhone until we've had plenty of time to put it through its paces, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out our look at one of the 3GS's main competitors--the Palm Pre.

Ya'll need a life if you need a phone to do more than just call people. What a waste of money and brain cells.
Nice production. I had never seen like that before and it's really amazing.

Apple started to ring up sales of its new version of iPhone- the iPhone 3GS lines. Some Apple stores in some areas are crowded, as many costumers want to get a new one. Before anyone knows how easily they break, everyone has got to have the new gadget first these days, which is the explanation as to why the iPhone 3GS lines were so long. However, critics have been denouncing the iPhone 3GS lines as people waiting in line for a long time to buy what amounts to the same product. Thanks to customers getting in line for the same phone that came out a couple years ago, Apple is swimming in cash. The iPhone 3GS lines were smaller than in 2007 for the release of the original, and more people just downloaded the upgrade for a new one. See http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2009/06/19/iphone-3g-lines-impressive/, for more discussion with regards to this issue.
You know eventually Sony will release a PSP / Phone / computer all in one. Apple's days are numbered. Just think of the profit margins from downloadable games, and cutting out all the middlemen.
