Most digital cameras are capable of IR?! And nobody thought of this before?!
Actually, it was found that under the right circumstances, that cameras capable of IR pictures could actually see warm bodies through the cooler clothing. That is why cameras now have the IR filter, so that people's private parts aren't being made public...
That reminds me, I actually want to try that now... lol
Most cameras are IR sensitive; just point your TV zapper at one to find out, the main difference with this one is that it has an IR illuminator built in.
This is a cool idea, but it has been thought of before. It is not a new technology by any means. Has anyone heard of the "Bell & Howell S7 12-Megapixel Night Vision Slim Digital Camera"? This camera has been on the market for a few years now. It will do everything this camera can do, and without the pink hue. The best part, its only $89.00!!
My Olympus C-4000 (2002) takes IR pictures. I bought a Tiffen adaptor so I could use all my old 35mm filters and put on a Hoya R72 IR filter. It even reads the correct exposure within about a half stop. Plus it has the zoom and video.
