As we all know, the Large Hadron Collider has been grievously behind the times technologically. Sure, its giant array of superconducting magnets, kept cool by almost a hundred tons of liquid helium is pretty neat, and the muon spectrometer is no slouch. But the LHC hasn't put it all in a convenient smartphone app -- until now.
With LHSee, released today by CERN's app specialists, you can investigate the fundamental nature of the universe -- the nature of spacetime, the origin of matter -- while you wait for the bus. The free Android app lets you watch particle collisions live, as they happen in Geneva, in 2-D or 3-D; to learn about how the LHC and the universe works; and ultimately be the one to spot the "God particle."
The app is downloadable from the Android Marketplace.
Five amazing, clean technologies that will set us free, in this month's energy-focused issue. Also: how to build a better bomb detector, the robotic toys that are raising your children, a human catapult, the world's smallest arcade, and much more.

wonderful, Ive downloaded it app to my HTC Desire Z, Android 2.3 .
Its amazing, thank you Android and LHsee
ha apple got left out
I need to put God in my smartphone.
lol
As in "God Particle." I'm getting that app right now.
So at the bus stop I might find God, or was it on my smart phone I found God?
When I found the particle of God, I just like to know, where is the rest of him? Is he being held hostage?
If I have a particle collision with my bus I am riding, will this affect the Hadron Collider results?
haha. religious nuts will call this "blasphemy".

bjorn,
lol, snort, you clever and funny!
Very interesting.
For those interested in seeing the status of the LHC, go here:

It shows the status of the beams, energy and the detectors. :)
webmasterdan,
I want to thank you for the link you suggested. It does seem to be a legit link and highly informative. Its a pity I do not possess the gray matter between my ears to really appreciate the information. But, I still wanted to say, thank you.
