Hopping on CES 2011's biggest bandwagon is Sharp, who announced a U.S. launch of their Japanese Galapagos Media Tablet with few if any details. But if you needed any indication of just how tablet-crazy everyone is this week, take a look at that media scrum.
In Japan, Galapagos owners can download magazines, newspapers, e-books and other medias via an iTunes-like store. U.S. owners will be able to...hmm...no one really knows. Its processor, operating system, network connectivity price or availability remain a mystery.

Honestly, do they have any shame that they’re merely jumping on the apple innovation bandwagon?
The apple innovation bandwagon? Because they have a tablet? There were a lot of tablets before apple ever did their take on it. Or is that not what you meant?
yeah seriously, I strongly dislike when people say everyone else is copying apple by making tablets. They didn't come up with the idea, look at the Archos 9 running windows 7, that's been around since 2009 and they had posted plans for it long before.
Hopefully he is talking about the Apple marketing innovation bandwagon... They make an item popular, and the other companies come in to make cheaper goods to sell to cheaper people.
"They make an item popular, and the other companies come in to make better goods to sell to better people."
Fixed that for ya.
Robert1234 I couldn't care less about a tablet. They are too small, to clunky and to wimpy to interest me. In fact, I don't really see a need for them at all. It appears to be little more than a fad at this time. If they really want to get me excited, give me a fold-out full size screen/computer, at least 18" diag. that has a wireless link to a mouse and full keyboards that also folds. It would have to weight under 4 pounds and run at least 8 hours at full tilt.
We've seen the governments wipe out the internet links, etc. so we know "cloud" computing is going to die. Who will put their critical data on something the government can then shut down? That could has a lead liner and hopefully will die soon. Table...no thanks! Full computers only for me!
