Real surround sound from a single skinny speaker

hmentYamaha_485.jpg:
Many speakers with two or three drivers purport to deliver surround sound, but the YSP-1 does more than create a fragile illusion. Digital amplifiers specifically direct the output from each of the YSP-1's 42 drivers, so the sound reaches you at slightly different times. Your ears interpret these delays just as if the sound were actually coming from two front, a center and two rear-channel speakers. And the panel, which mounts below a flat TV, is easy to set up. Answer a few questions about the room and the speaker's position in it, and the speaker will configure itself automatically. $1,500
