IPO: GOTO11
"Will A Guitar Hero get its own TV series?"
Are you ready to rock? I said, ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?! Well, Activision certainly hopes so. New rumors claim that the video game publisher is looking to start a TV series based on its popular Guitar Hero line of games. The Hollywood Reporter claims that the company is close to announcing the TV series, although there are precious few details as to what that show would entail. Would it be a Guitar Hero competition (boring), an American Idol-like showdown of axe prowess (slightly better, although you know Joe Satriani would be a judge, *shudder*), or a docu-drama chronicling a hard scrabble metal band's long way to the top to rock and roll (hopefully this time it won't involve Flickerstick)? No one can no for sure, but with Activision properties World of Warcraft and Call of Duty both heading to the big screen, it looks like this software company is dead set on moving beyond the interactive market.
This prop will pay POP$100 if rumors of a Guitar Hero TV series are confirmed before May 30th, 2009. This can be checked at http://www.hollywoodreporter.com.
