I think the air is being let out of this price spike. Oil is down today because OPEC pointed out the obvious - that there is plenty of oil. So, it will be interesting to see if profit-taking and some sanity sends oil down even further.

I beleive that most of the big share holders in gas and related securties are not going to let gas go down without a fight. They probally won't need to lift a finger though, since the middle eastern conflicts are so bad all the time. Acorrding to the bush adminstartion anyway. So, hold on for on powerful(and expensive) ride!

You forget, they can make just as much money as it goes down as they do while it is going up. Shorting works in the real world too!

wait until the gas tax goes out, shouldnt that be a major factor in making the price go down? or is it coming to late to make a difference? june counts as summer for me :-)

if it comes, i think it would be after june 1st...it really does have to be the dumbest piece of legislation this year though...it'll save people what, $30-$50 for the entire time it's in effect? So the government loses millions of dollars that get used to fund highway renovation projects and less money = less jobs
