Just went and voted for the name.

Serenity currently has 86% of the vote.

Station: "Uhh shuttle? Is the Colbert expansion ready for installation?"

Uh oh?

On my way home from the bank, I heard on the local news (1150 WTMJ) that NASA decided on the name for the 3rd node, and they said it was Serenity.
Now I found out that it's not true... WTF?
I guess you can't believe anything anymore... not even the news!

Yep, it looks like Colbert won the vote (he already has a bridge and a town named after him through this same method)! But NASA may or may not find the name "suitable". We're gonna have to wait and see.

I guess I don't understand. Website vote was overwhelming in favor of serenity. Why isn't this prop closed?

Colbert dusted Serenity with the write-in option.

The prop isn't about who or what wins the vote - it's about what NASA actually chooses to name the node.

announced on colbert last nite, going to be called tranquility

I don't understand why NASA even bothered to have a vote if they didn't use any of the top voted names.
