Anti virus and spyware

Does anyone know the best and most cost effective anti virus/ spyware software , i read The Sheild Deluxe is rated highest, but i really value the opinions of POPSCI magazine and it's writers, thanks Danny

I'm fond of AVG, their free version does the job for me at home. If you want more spyware control try Spybot search and destroy I run it time to time just as a double check.

I use ESET NOD32. Works Great and very low on CPU usage. Much less "bulky" and resource-constricting than Norton or McAfee.

I uses "Kaspersky INTERNET Security" the newest version a bit more expensive than others, but they work so good at protecting my computers. If you watch for it you might also get a huge coupon discount for it on Amazon or etc. which is very close to being free.

I do the same as Kubie, AVG Free and Spybot Search and Destroy. I also run Ad-Aware every once in a while, and I use CCleaner to clean up my system.

All of those programs are free. You have to hunt for AVG Free but it is still supported.

I use the free AVG suite as well, along with weekly runs of Lavasoft's Ad-Ware and IOBIT's free Advanced WindowsCare V2 and SmartDefragger. These keep all of my systems fairly clean, especially after the grand kids visiting God knows what sites every weekend. ;-))
