The 6th annual Invention Awards are here, from an inflatable tourniquet to a better lobster trap to spring-loaded hocket skates. This issue is all about the celebration of invention.
Plus: Making synthetic biology breakthroughs in a garage, building a constantly-moving ping-pong table, and a ridiculously overpowered barbecue.
That BMW i8 is gorgeous. Usually I don't care for BMWs because of the trademark nostril-grill, but the i8 seems to have departed at least moderately from that style. Love it!
I didn't like BMWs until I realized they are not just statues symbols but actually really bad ### cars. The m-seires are some of the fastest best handling cars their class.
Jaguar on the hand.... but I do like the new direction Jag is taking. I think, but could be wrong, that they hired a new lead designer, (and the old one now works for Aston Martin).
and the Subaru BRZ... I just wont get excited about this car until I see some track times. Subuare already makes one of the single best cars in the world (for the cash) the WRX STI, and the their twinturbo B4 (jap model) is nothing to laugh at and comes in at 280hp. I simply to not see this cars beating either of subaru's other sport(y) cars.
911- 7 speed transmission... WOW. you have any idea how annoying that would be if you lived in the city?
The VW beetle should die. What an UGLY terrible car. I 100% agree with Jermeny Clarksons feelings on that car.
cant stand American cars, but the new mustang (and Corvette) are insainly bad $$$ cars.
well, richard hammond will be excited about the new Porsche's, and jeremy clarckson will no doubt make fun of the little bmw electric car, but i think bugatti should come out with a car that goes faster than the old 16.4 SS
-Knock knock
-Who's there?
-The Doctor.
-Doctor Who?
-Yes
Mercedes makes me sick. I love the look and feel, but they really need to get with the times. There is absolutely no excuse for them being unable to squeeze more than 300bhp out of their engines without dropping their efficiency to 10-12mpg.
i see the brz as a real original pony car, small fun to drive rwd. not retarded amounts of horsepower. that lil thing has wicked amounts of potential and is begging to be modded.
from another site "The quad exhaust tips seem like overkill for a naturally aspirated engine, and may be proof that Subaru is pulling our leg about the STI being naturally aspirated. Let’s hope so. If the car has about 200 bhp, that drag-inducing wing and diffuser won’t make much sense. The weight reducing carbon-fiber roof helps reduce the car’s center of gravity, but engineers say the BRZ’s CG is already lower than a Porsche Boxster’s."
i intend to buy one and see just what it can do
