not only insurance but the auto body, tire, and auto parts industries will take a hit. cars will last longer and probably get better gas mileage without the lead-foots behind the wheel.

Very interesting! To consider that vehicles may be safer through technology is fantastic, though whilst the vehicle may be capable of being safe, are we? Boys will be boys! Politically incorrect I know! I know that these cars will still be pushed to the limit by some drivers and will therefore cause safety failure and malfunction. Then again, on the positive side for every "hoon" on the road there is a greater proportion of drivers who do consider theirs and others safety above speed and reckless behavior.
