Wacom’s scribble-capture system has two parts: a sensor that clips to the top of any writing surface and a pen. As the pen moves, it emits a sonar-like pulse that is picked up by two microphones in the clip; the clip’s processor continuously triangulates and stores the pen’s location. The pen also sends pressure data to the clip, which allows the system to adjust the thickness of the lines. When connected to a computer via USB, the Inkling exports drawings as simple JPEGs or PDFs or sends edit-able files directly to Adobe Illustrator and others. $200
