This is an amazing design

This product will allow you to see all of the nasty buildup in your sink on display. It also seems as though it would push clogs further down the line causing a more expensive problem. The other issue I see is that it is not exactly "easy" to use a fishing hook to retrieve lost lost products. It is obvious that the gentlemen who has commented above doesn't understand the functioning of PermaFLOW and is trying to promote an alternate product - nothing wrong with it - but we feel it is impirtant to ensure that the facts are stated correctly and therefore are taking the liberty to address the issues raised above.

PermaFLOW™ prevents clogs and eliminates the need for chemical drain openers. The drain buildup can be easily removed before it develops into a clog. PermaFLOW is ‘Green by Design’ and is engineered to increase turbulence to propel debris and minimize potential build-up. PermaFLOW has an in-line drain cleaner that operates using an easy to rotate external dial. The dial turns an internal wiper to remove any build-up and provides an emergency bypass for continuous flow through the upper chamber and better yet, helps retrieve accidentally dropped jewelry.

Since PermaFLOW doesn't allow the build-up to occur in the first place - and the debris that is propelled out using the wiper is not going in the form of lumps of clog - that is why PermaFLOW actually redcues the chances of getting a clog down the line too.

Unlike the common P-trap, PermaFLOW prevents clog build-up and eliminates the need for secondary maintenance products and processes such as frustrating drain disassembly, plunging, dangerous drain cleaners and snaking. This eliminates the related costs and personal safety concerns from storing and using chemical cleaners as well as the hazards of exposure to sewer gases.

Since hazardous drain-clearing chemicals are no longer required, the quality of gray water is not compromised and is available for alternative use in efforts to recycle water. What's worse than someone using this award to promote a competing product? Someone using this award to promote a a product they didn't even create!

The Safe-t-Trap is actually the No Clog Trap (http://www.noclogttrap.com/) which is about 30% less.

I found the later after searching Google for a clear sink trap after reading the PopSci awards on a plane flight this week.

I plan to buy the PermaFlow product for my houses (about 15 or so traps) -- I only hope I can get bulk pricing :)

On behalf of the company promoting and selling the Safe-T-trap, which is in fact a licensed redesigned version of the No Clog T-Trap and filter, I would like to make a formal apology. In no way do we agree with or condone the comments made, and we agree that doing something good for the planet is the bigger purpose. What is worse is that the website given out is private information, and should not have been posted. In any event, we wish you continued success and congratulate you on a very impressive design! I came across this blog after hearing that your product was in the magazine. I was horrrified to see the posting with our company represented on it.
