Eye-Fi Wireless SD Card main

By squeezing a Wi-Fi transmitter onto the main chip of a two-gigabyte memory card, Eye-Fi allows a camera to automatically beam photos to a computer or upload them to the Web. It can also use Wi-Fi to find its location and geotag photos to display on a map. From $80; eye.fi

This is a fantastic product. I have two of them and with the Eye-Fi cards it is simple to automatically get photos off my cameras and quickly get them to my PC and to Shutterfly.

I highly recommend this product!

Simply perfect. I've been using mine for almost a year now and I've never had to use cables again! The only problem is that my wife now wants one too - which she'll get for the holidays this year...

This is amazing. I am a huge fan. No longer a pain to get the pictures to the computer! Everyone needs one of these things!

To be clear, this card can only geotag you photos if you happen to take your pictures within wifi hotspots. There is no actual GPS functionality. But the ability to upload automatically via wifi is pretty cool, because while pulling a card out and sliding it into a computer isn't all that difficult, it's easy to forget about until the card is filled up.

A nice idea, in the wrong part. Isn't it somewhat cheaper (and less of a waste) to include a wi-fi (or a bluetooth) to the camera? I note that in the new cameras, they have included a decidedly a low-tech upgrade of including a USB jack. I haven't used one of them, but I doubt their ease of use, since they don't have any extension from the camera to the USB jack. So,the camera body is literally attached to the PC.
