Hey, if you're going to try to save the world, why not try to make a few million dollars while you're at it? Nobel Peace Prize winner, former vice president and anti-global-warming warrior Al Gore announced yesterday that he's going to join the prestigious venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers. The firm, which backed Netscape, Amazon and Google, among others, says it has earmarked $100 million for startups working on clean technology, and estimates that it will dedicate one-third of its new investment cash to green tech by 2009.—Gregory Mone
