Today on PPX we have halted not one, not two, no, not even three, but FOUR propositions—all of them paying out at POP$0. No surprises here—all of the stocks in question had been trading below $10 for several weeks.
In summary, Digg.com was not shut down, no NASA bigwigs were fired, the iPhone was not recalled, and Facebook.com did not go public:

John Mahoney, I'm not sure who's checking the propositions before they are posted, but you need to check two things: 1) what's the payout date (and most need to be withing 90-days or less) 2) even distribution of long v. short offerings. You have a monster coming:
Month # of payouts
Oct 8
Nov 0
Dec 0
Jan 19 "during 2007" stocks
Feb-Jul 0
You need to have 1 to 2 stocks that pay off EACH WEEK or you will see a mass exodus of active traders (no fun watching paint dry).
2 out of 2 people found this comment helpfulGot that right gpm...I dont know about 1-2 pays per week, but at least maybe 5 or 6 per month to keep it entertaining....How about a payout calendar that quick references upcoming expirations like the 8 set to expire 10/31 etc..this way the active traders can really take a gamble on something they know will expire soon.
1 out of 1 people found this comment helpfulThey do have a Calendar (http://ppx.popsci.com/calendar/), but it doesn't list ending dates, which would be a great idea ... and it doesn't have 'coming soon' stuff ether, which would also be nice.
i like the whole idea even though i have only been here a few days, keep it moving.
:D
1 out of 1 people found this comment helpfulI agree with the comments above, with such a long span of no scheduled payouts (all November-December) this will cause players to become inactive. I think regular payouts so that players stay active by continuing to re-invest their money is the way to go.
That said I can't wait till the end of year action :)
